ISA Tianhe International School of Guangzhou held an event, Back to School Night, for all ISA Tianhe students, parents and teachers on Friday, September 18th, where all of them shared a joyous moment.

在9月18日(周五)放學(xué)后，廣州天河愛莎外籍人員子女學(xué)校為全體家長和學(xué)生舉辦了返校之夜活動，學(xué)生、家長和老師們齊聚愛莎天河，令原本寂靜的夜晚變得無比溫馨歡樂。

Before the event, parents were gathered together, enjoying the delicious food prepared by the school while waiting for the start of the event. At the same time, under the guidance of the associate teachers, the students who remained for the Back to School Night had fun with their classmates in the playground, watched movies in the classrooms and also enjoyed some food, which made the waiting process more interesting.

活動始于美食，家長們陸續(xù)到場，一邊享受學(xué)校精心準備的美食，一邊等待活動的開始。另一邊，參加返校之夜的學(xué)生，在助教老師的帶領(lǐng)下，和同學(xué)們一起在學(xué)校操場玩耍、在課室看電影還享受了學(xué)校為他們準備的美食。在等待家長到來的過程也充滿歡樂。

At the beginning, the Head of School Mr. Michael and the Deputy Head of School Ms. Felicity expressed their warm welcome to parents and introduced ISA Tianhe comprehensively from the aspects of the strategic plans for this year, regarding its school development, curriculum system and school environment. We firmly believed that after listening the presentation by Mr. Michael and Ms. Felicity, parents would know more about our school.

活動正式開始，學(xué)校校長Michael先生和副校長Felicity女士向家長們進行歡迎致辭后，從本學(xué)年愛莎天河“作戰(zhàn)計劃”、學(xué)校發(fā)展、課程體系和學(xué)校環(huán)境等方面全面介紹了愛莎天河。相信聽完講座后，家長們對愛莎天河有了更深一步的了解。

Then parents together with the students headed to the classroom led by their corresponding homeroom teachers, where parents were available to experience the learning environment of children's daily study. Communication is key between parents and schools; but it makes it hugely important when we are in cross-cultural environments. Therefore, at the year group introduction meeting, the teacher introduced a variety of communication channels, including class teachers, parents support group and parents help center. Also, teachers showed the students' timetable, breaks time and co-curricular activities to parents so that parents could fully understand what a typical day will look like for students at school. Last but not least, the students' first UOI learning plan and content was shared and how to provide holistic education for students within the inquiry-based model were explained.

隨后，家長和學(xué)生在各自主班老師的帶領(lǐng)下一同前往課室，家長走進課室親身感受孩子們平時上課的環(huán)境和氛圍。家校溝通尤為重要，尤其是在愛莎天河這個多元文化的環(huán)境中。因此，在年級介紹會上，老師向家長介紹了多種家校溝通渠道，包括班級老師、家委會以及家長服務(wù)中心等;向家長展示學(xué)生的課表、作息時間及課外活動，讓家長充分了解學(xué)生們在學(xué)校的一天;最后便是年級介紹會的重中之重，分享了學(xué)生探究單元計劃、未來的學(xué)習(xí)重點和常規(guī)學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容及如何在IB探究模式下培養(yǎng)學(xué)生全面發(fā)展。

Back to School Night, as an important social event of ISA Tianhe, is helpful to the establishment of stable, pleasant and mutual trust between home and school. We look forward to sharing more enjoyable moments with parents in the future.
