大家都要記住，養(yǎng)育好孩子是世界上最令人有成就感的工作。在家里和學校里營造一種熱情善良，勤奮學習和用心服務的氛圍，是我們應該做的最重要的工作。

Dear Parents,

親愛的家長朋友們：

A prominent joy this past month was the opening ceremony for 2020–2021. The students, teachers, and parents gave heartfelt speeches and performances, which made me feel grateful and excited to begin the new school year.

在過去的這一個月時間里，對于瑞得福國際學校來說最重要的歡樂時刻就是2020-2021年的開學典禮。在典禮現(xiàn)場，同學們、老師們和家長朋友們發(fā)表了誠摯的演講，還有精彩美妙的演出，這讓我對新學年的開始充滿感激和興奮。

Another highlight has been seeing friends learning together. Naturally, the students are developing love and respect for their teachers. Smiles and good feelings are evident throughout our teaching buildings, common areas, and playgrounds.

另一個亮點是看到同學們回歸校園一起學習。在這個過程中，同學們正在培養(yǎng)對老師的敬愛和尊重。在我們的教學樓、公共區(qū)域和運動場上，歡樂的笑臉隨處可見。

I’m also glad to say we are offering new AP classes this year, which have been popular among students.

我們很高興地宣布學校今年又開設了新的AP課程，這些課程廣受同學們歡迎。

Here are some other highlights from the last three weeks:

Students enjoyed two days of Orientation Activities. They worked as teams and cheered for each other throughout the events. It was thrilling to watch individual students test their courage and succeed in various physical challenges. We gave awards to teams and individuals at a spirited closing ceremony.

學生們參加了為期兩天的開學破冰拓展活動。在整個活動過程中，同學們以團隊形式進行協(xié)調合作并相互加油鼓勵，為彼此歡呼。看著每個同學在各種運動挑戰(zhàn)中激發(fā)出自己的潛能、勇氣并取得成功，真是令人激動。在熱烈的閉幕式上，我們?yōu)閳F隊和個人準備了頒獎儀式。

I have been impressed by the teaching and learning which I have observed in the first week of classes. Students are learning from caring, knowledgeable instructors who are highly qualified to teach their subjects.

根據(jù)我的觀課所得，第一周課堂上的教學，讓人為之喜悅。同學們正在向有愛心且知識淵博的老師們學習。我們的老師們在自己所在的專業(yè)領域都有很強的教學能力。

Safety remains a priority at RDFIS, and COVID-19 prevention and control measures will continue in accordance with government requirements, best practice, and common sense. We have been successful in implementing our safety measures for the past six months, since the beginning of the pandemic.

確保師生的人身安全仍然是瑞得福國際學校重中之重的工作，新冠疫情預防和控制措施將繼續(xù)按照政府的要求，根據(jù)最佳的防控實踐和通用方法進行。自新冠疫情發(fā)生以來，我們學校在過去六個月中已經(jīng)成功踐行了安全有效的疫情防控措施。

School employees enjoyed two weeks of useful back-to-school trainings. The teachers prepared their classrooms and curricula for principle-focused learning through the four R’s: Research, Reason, Relate, and Record.

學校教職工進行了為期兩周的實用返校培訓。教師們通過四R方法(研究、推理、關聯(lián)和記錄)進行備課以達成原理聚焦式學習的目標。

As you visit our campus again, you will find that the facilities have changed.

當你們再一次來訪學校，就會發(fā)現(xiàn)我們校園的設施設備變樣了。

We renovated our library and added about a thousand new classic books.

我們翻新了圖書館并增加了1000本經(jīng)典書籍。

We also renovated our performance hall on the seventh floor of Building B.

我們還翻修了B棟七樓的演播廳。

We resurfaced our basketball, volleyball, badminton, and tennis courts, and resurfaced our track.

我們重新鋪設了籃球場、排球場、羽毛球場、網(wǎng)球場以及我們的田徑跑道。

We believe the students will like these upgraded venues. Thank you to the Board of Directors for making these changes possible.

* SCHOOL PAL 校寶在線

We are adopting School Pal this year as our school management software and student information system. The system is used in many schools across China as a bilingual Chinese and English school management system that offers several advantages of convenience for parents and students, such as a fully Chinese interface for parents and a mini-program for WeChat. Given these and other advantages, School Pal is replacing our PowerSchool system. Instructions on how to access and use this program will be sent soon to parents and students.

我們今年將采用校寶在線作為我們的學校管理軟件和學生信息系統(tǒng)。這個系統(tǒng)在中國的許多學校中都被用作為中英文雙語校務管理系統(tǒng)，為家長和學生提供了許多便利的優(yōu)勢，例如，針對家長的完全中文的界面和針對微信提供的小程序。鑒于這些優(yōu)勢和其他優(yōu)點，校寶在線正在取代我們的PowerSchool系統(tǒng)。有關如何訪問和使用此程序系統(tǒng)的指導將很快發(fā)送給家長和學生。

* CLUB MARKET 社團招新活動

Student-led clubs are also launching their enrollment campaigns this coming week! Students can attend our “RDFIS Club Market” to sign up to participate in student-led organizations that instruct and provide activities in Chinese and international culture, mock trial, baking, musicals singing and performance, animal protection, intellectual studies, drone “Free Fly” instruction, and much more. Many thanks to the RDF Student Government for coordinating our student organizations!

學生主導的社團也將在下周進行招新活動!同學們可以參加我們的“RDFIS社團招新活動”，報名參加學生們自己主導的社團，這些社團活動涵蓋廣泛，如，模擬法庭、烘焙，音樂演唱與表演，動物保護，智能研究，無人機“自由飛行”教學等等。非常感謝我們學生會的成員們協(xié)調學生社團的組織工作!

* OPEN DAYS 校園開放日

Do you know someone who would appreciate RDF’s culture of educating hearts and minds for beautiful family culture? If so, invite them to come see our classrooms, visit the dorms and canteen, take the admissions test, and meet administrators and teachers! Our next open days are Saturday, September 5, 9:00 AM and Saturday, September 22, with more Open Days in the future.

Let’s all remember that raising children well is the most satisfying work in the world. Establishing an atmosphere of responsive kindness, diligent learning, and heartfelt service at home and at school is the most important work we will ever do. In my experience, when the deeply held core values of home and school align, it is amazing the good that can be accomplished!
