【聯(lián)合國閱讀日】- 東華文澤學(xué)校慶祝活動 Celebrating the UN World Book

世界閱讀日，又稱世界閱讀和版權(quán)日，是聯(lián)合國教育、科學(xué)及文化組織(教科文組織)于1995年為促進(jìn)閱讀、出版和版權(quán)而舉辦的一項活動。

世界圖書日 World Book Day

為了讓閱讀和學(xué)習(xí)變得有趣，并將此成為我們在TWIS生活的一部分，我們的學(xué)校圖書管理員Leonah老師在上周邀請了整個學(xué)校社區(qū)參加這次的慶祝活動。我們一起制作了一本有聲讀物、首次舉辦了TWIS書套展覽以分享學(xué)生自制的作品、也為PYP家長舉行了一次簡介會。一起來看看TWIS全校師生和家長如何好好慶祝世界閱讀日!

World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day is an event organized in 1995 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright.

To make reading and learning fun, as well as become part of our lives here at TWIS, our school librarian, Ms. Leonah, invited the whole school community to join the week-long celebration last week. We read together to create an audiobook, held the first TWIS Book Jacket Exhibition to display students’ homemade book jackets, and hosted an info session for PYP parents. Let’s take a look at how the TWIS community made the most of World Book Day!

書套裝飾展

Book Jacket Decorating Exhibition

我們讓孩子們以創(chuàng)作書套的形式來表達(dá)自己。這些充滿個性化的書套不僅好看，或許也能鼓勵他們多閱讀或激發(fā)他們成為插畫家!

Children are invited to express themselves through a drawing in the form of a book jacket. These personalized book jackets not only look awesome, but may also inspire them to become enthusiastic readers or book illustrators!

PYP家長閱讀工作坊

Workshop on Reading for PYP Parents

為了讓更多家長下班后參與家?；顒?，我們在4月29日晚上，邀請了來自1-5年級的家長和學(xué)生一起出席由Leonah老師主持的線上家長簡介會。經(jīng)過老師詳細(xì)的分享后，希望TWIS PYP的家長們能更好的了解到學(xué)校如何鼓勵學(xué)生閱讀，以及他們在閱讀日外怎樣在家里幫助孩子培養(yǎng)對閱讀的熱情。

Families from grade 1 – 5 were invited to attend the parent info session (virtual edition) hosted by Ms. Leonah on the evening of April 29 to allow more parents to join when they come back from work. After a thorough sharing, we hope TWIS PYP parents have learned more about how we engage students in reading and what they can do at home to build their child’s enthusiasm for books beyond the World Book Day.

Leonah老師擁有圖書館和信息科學(xué)的碩士學(xué)位，以及獲得弗羅里達(dá)州教育部(FLDOE)頒發(fā)的閱讀認(rèn)可。作為美國的公共圖書館管理員，她曾參與各項推動兒童閱讀計劃的活動。

Ms. Leonah holds a Master‘s degree in Library and Information Science, as well as a Reading Endorsement from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE). She has participated in various early readers initiatives as a public librarian in the USA.
