深圳曼徹斯通城堡學校開學季丨這些變化值得關注 A Great Start to Our Second

August sees the start of the new school year after a long summer holiday. 悠長假期之后，我們在八月底迎來了曼徹斯通新學年

At MIS, it was wonderful to see the enthusiastic, smiling faces of our returning students, along with the excited looks from students arriving at MIS for the very first time.

開學伊始，在曼徹斯通校園里，隨處可見返校生和新生們那一張張熱情洋溢的笑臉、一雙雙興奮驚喜的眼神。

Induction Days at MIS 曼校新學年啟幕

20 August Tuesday afternoon saw our students meeting their teachers and getting familiar with the surroundings.

8月22日：開學前一日，學生和家長們提前來到學校，認識老師、熟悉環(huán)境。

21 August The first day of a new school year! It was fantastic to see the school buzzing and full of life again.

8月21日：開學首日，校園恢復勃勃生氣!

22 August The Juniors CCA Fair gave students and their parents a chance to learn more about what activities are on offer this term and what interests them the most.

8月22日：CCA學員招募會為學生和家長提供了一個近距離了解課程及發(fā)掘他們真正所愛的機會。

Similar to last year, we will continue to offer activities that run all year such as Yearbook Club, Choir, Eco Council and EPQ. The CCA programme has also retained some extremely popular activities as requested by students and staff such as Table Tennis, Arts & Crafts, Horse Riding, Golf and Football. With a new year also comes new and exciting prospects and there are lots of new activities to choose from such as Coding Club, Lego Club, Textiles, Drama Production and Bouldering at our brand new custom built Bouldering Centre.

本學年，曼徹斯通保留了第一學年的趣味活動，如年鑒、合唱團、生態(tài)委員會、EPQ等。同時第一學年最受師生歡迎的CCA也將在第二學年繼續(xù)開展，如乒乓球、藝術與手工藝、足球等。當然第二學年也將帶給學生更多全新、激動人心的活動，如編碼、樂高俱樂部、紡織品制作、戲劇制作和在新建攀巖區(qū)域進行的攀巖課程。

23 August Our first year academic results were outstanding and well deserved for our hard-working students.

8月23日：第一學年的成績出爐，同學們經過辛苦的努力，取得了優(yōu)異了成績。

29 August "Meet the Teachers" Both Juniors and Seniors students' parents had a chance to meet the teachers and hear about the curriculum and subject learning in the upcoming year.

8月29日：針對小學和中學的不同情況，曼徹斯通舉辦了家長教師見面會。學生家長們有機會與老師就課程設置和本學年的學習安排進行深入溝通。

Overall Enhancement 新學年新起點

As MIS grows, our second year provides enhanced CCAs, EAL, PE, Curriculum Enrichment, Art, Music performances, Parent Forums and Information Sessions.

經過一年的教學實踐，曼校今年為學生們提供了更加豐富多樣的高質量教學及管理安排——在課外輔助活動、英語助學、體育教學、課程多樣化、藝術、音樂表演、家校溝通等方面，均有明顯的提升。

EAL 英語助學

With more teachers, our EAL department has gone from strength to strength. Non-fluent English speakers participate in a robust intensive EAL programme. Preparation has began for Cambridge PET and First for Schools or IELTS exams.

我們在英語助學方面投入了更多的師資力量，EAL部門今年以全新陣容向學生開放。針對英語交流不流暢的學生們今年需要參與EAL強化項目，而針對需參加劍橋PET和IELTS考試的學生備考安排也在準備中。

Parent Forum on Information Sessions 家長講座

Parent Forums in 2018/2019 were very well attended. With parent feedback on what they feel is important we have a calendar full of Parent Forums for this year relating to Well-being, Mental Health, and Support at Home amongst many other topics.

去年，家長講座定期順利開展，我們也得到很多家長的反饋，了解到家長們所關心的事宜。今年，曼徹斯通的日程表中排滿了家長講座，內容涵蓋從積極心理健康到家庭支持的各方面。

Physical Education 體育教育

This year, MIS sports teams will be entering a brand new league, ISL, where they will regularly compete against other local international schools. The primary focus is on three core sports; volleyball, basketball and football with teams from the following; Under 11's (Years 5 and 6), Under 14's (Years 7,8,9), Under 19's (Years 10,11,12,13). Students will compete both at Home and Away in other events, participating in swimming, tennis, bouldering, cross country, badminton and table tennis.

今年，曼徹斯通球隊也會加入ISL聯(lián)賽，將在ISL聯(lián)賽中與其他當?shù)氐膰H學校一爭高下。當前聚焦重點在三項核心運動：排球、籃球、足球，三大球隊將按年齡組進行分隊(11歲以下的五六年級、14歲以下的七八九年級、19歲以下的十至十三年級)。曼徹斯通的學生們也將有機會在國內外參加其他項目的比賽，包括游泳、網球、攀巖、越野、羽毛球和乒乓球。

Students’ Mental Health 積極心理健康

As well as weekly well-being lessons, MIS has appointed an in house school counsellor. Our fully trained UK counsellor is on hand to help any student who might be facing challenges in their life.

除去每周一節(jié)的積極心理健康課之外，學校設置了一名在校心理咨詢師。我們的英國咨詢師隨時可為正面臨人生挑戰(zhàn)的學生們提供心理援助。

Music Event Performances 音樂演出盛事

In our first year MIS attended and organised many big events. We took part in the wonderful ISCMS Festival in Shanghai and made the successful bid to bring the 2020 event here to MIS and Shenzhen. The ‘flagship’ Choir began this year with a voluntary sign up of more than 60 students.

去年曼徹斯通參加并組織了很多大型音樂演出活動。我們參加了上海舉辦的ISCMS大型音樂會，而現(xiàn)在我們成功申請到了2020年該盛事的舉辦權，將這項大型國際音樂會帶到了深圳。而曼徹斯通合唱團也將在今年擴展到六十人以上規(guī)模的大型合唱團。
