At CBIS learning is ongoing!

很多家長問我們,CBIS的老師是受過專業(yè)培訓(xùn)的,為什么他們還需要參加各類培訓(xùn)呢?其實(shí)世界總是在變化,知識(shí)也是如此。因此,教師需要跟上知識(shí)的更迭和實(shí)踐操作的步伐,不斷成長和吸收先進(jìn)的教育理念,這樣他們才能讓學(xué)生跟上時(shí)代的變遷、知識(shí)和社會(huì)的進(jìn)步。

Many parents ask us if your teachers are trained teachers then why do they still need training? The world is changing all the time and so does knowledge. What was relevant 5 years ago is non-existent today. Technology is an example of this growth. Thus, teachers need to keep abreast with pedagogies and practices and need to grow as educators so that they can keep their students up to date with what is happening around the world!


01.美國西部學(xué)校與學(xué)院教育聯(lián)盟自我學(xué)習(xí)培訓(xùn)(全校)

WASC Self-study(Western Association of Schools and Colleges)


10月9日上午,我們?nèi)@蠋燒R聚一堂,開始進(jìn)行“ WASC自我學(xué)習(xí)”。自學(xué)為學(xué)校提供了一個(gè)反思什么是有效的,什么是無效的,并為學(xué)校提供了以學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)為重點(diǎn)的領(lǐng)先計(jì)劃的機(jī)會(huì)。


我們的老師和教職工組成了專題小組,并將每月舉行會(huì)議以收集證明,以支持許多標(biāo)準(zhǔn),并制定未來的行動(dòng)計(jì)劃。經(jīng)過WASC的自我學(xué)習(xí)這個(gè)流程,可確保獲得WASC認(rèn)證的學(xué)校保持高水平的教學(xué)質(zhì)量,滿足了美國地區(qū)認(rèn)證委員會(huì)的要求,并為美國和全球的大學(xué)提供教育質(zhì)量的保障。

On October 9th morning, our teachers met together to begin working upon the ‘WASC Self Study’. The self-study provides schools with an opportunity to reflect on what is working and what is not working and provides opportunities for schools to plan ahead with a focus upon student learning.

Our teachers and staff formed focus groups and will meet monthly to collect evidence to support the many criteria and develop an action plan for the future. The WASC process ensures WASC accredited schools maintain a high level of educational quality that satisfies the US regional accreditation board and provides evidence of educational quality to universities both in the US and globally.

WASC全稱為美國西部學(xué)校與學(xué)院教育聯(lián)盟,成立于1962年,是美國教育部授權(quán)的為公立和私立學(xué)校、學(xué)院和大學(xué)進(jìn)行認(rèn)證的六大教育聯(lián)盟之一,也負(fù)責(zé)認(rèn)證位于亞太地區(qū)的國際學(xué)校,是目前世界上被廣泛接受的認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)之一。


通過WASC認(rèn)證意味著:國外大學(xué)將認(rèn)可學(xué)生的成績單與其背景資料的真實(shí)性;畢業(yè)證等同美國本土中學(xué)頒發(fā)的畢業(yè)證,在全球范圍受到認(rèn)可;學(xué)生所修的學(xué)分也可以在美國西部聯(lián)盟大學(xué)范圍內(nèi)進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)換。

Western Association of Schools and Colleges, established in 1962, is one of the six largest education associations authorized by the US Department of Education for accrediting public and private schools, colleges and universities in the US and the Asia-pacific region. The WASC is one of the most widely approved accreditation agencies in today’s world.

Holding the WASC accreditation means: universities abroad will accept students’ transcript and other documentation; CBIS school diploma is globally accepted as the US native high school diploma; credits can be exchanged among WASC member colleges and universities.

02.兒童保護(hù)和健康培訓(xùn)(全校)

Child Protection and wellbeing Training


10月9日上午,部分員工參加了兒童保護(hù)和健康的培訓(xùn)課程。


我們所有的員工都有責(zé)任關(guān)愛我們的學(xué)生。我們的兒童保護(hù)政策指導(dǎo)員工保障學(xué)生的身心健康。作為針對(duì)員工培訓(xùn)的一部分,我們采用了Educare系列培訓(xùn)計(jì)劃,幫助老師認(rèn)識(shí)和處理可能影響兒童的情感問題。在第一學(xué)期,我們所有的教職員工都要完成學(xué)習(xí)Educare課程“國際學(xué)校的兒童保護(hù)”。在第二學(xué)期,老師將選修“兒童和青少年的心理健康”課程。所有課程均可得到英國國際學(xué)校理事會(huì)COBIS的認(rèn)可。

On Oct 9th morning, part of our staff took part in Child-protection training.

All our staff has a duty of care towards our students. Our child protection policy guides staff in safeguarding the physical and emotional well-being of our students. As part of our safeguarding training for staff we have adopted the Educare series of training programmes to provide valuable insight for our teachers in recognizing and dealing with emotional issues that can affect children. In Semester 1 all our teaching staff will finish the Educare course ‘Child Protection in International Schools’. In Semester 2 teachers will take the course ‘Mental wellbeing in children and young people’. All the courses are endorsed by COBIS, the Council for British International Schools.

03.評(píng)估之“學(xué)習(xí)的證據(jù)”(小學(xué))

Evidencing learning


我們?yōu)樾W(xué)教師舉辦了一次校內(nèi)IB研討會(huì)。研討會(huì)的主題是評(píng)估之“學(xué)習(xí)的證據(jù)”。此次專業(yè)培訓(xùn)由 Ms. Apple主講。Ms. Apple是一位經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的教育家, 她也是PYP工作坊的培訓(xùn)專家、學(xué)校訪問團(tuán)隊(duì)的成員。她為亞太地區(qū)的許多學(xué)校舉辦了各種IB官方研討會(huì),內(nèi)容涉及“Making PYP happen(行動(dòng)PYP)、評(píng)估、概念為主導(dǎo)的學(xué)習(xí)、IB圖書管理員的角色等。在研討會(huì)的兩天時(shí)間里,教師們對(duì)有關(guān)評(píng)估策略和工具有更深的理解。與中國傳統(tǒng)學(xué)校的評(píng)估方法相比,PYP的評(píng)估方法更加全面和系統(tǒng)。下個(gè)月,我們的英語老師將參加為期一個(gè)月的在線課程學(xué)習(xí),內(nèi)容是關(guān)于評(píng)估與領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力。

At CBIS we have two assigned professional development days for our teachers. This year on 9th and 10th of October we organized an In-school IB workshop for our primary Chinese teachers. The topic of the workshop was “Evidencing learning” with its focus on assessment. Our workshop leader Ms. Apple Li is an experienced PYP educator. She is an IBPYP workshop leader, school consultant and visiting team leader. She has led various IB official workshops for many schools in Asia Pacific Region on Making the PYP Happen, Assessment, Concept-based learning, and the Role of IB Librarians etc. For two days the teachers got practical knowledge of assessment strategies and tools, as assessment in PYP is very different from assessment in traditional school. Next month our English teachers will attend a month’s online IB course on Assessment and leadership.

我們的助教每周也參加不同主題的專業(yè)培訓(xùn),由李老師主導(dǎo)。在10月份的兩天培訓(xùn)期間,全體助教參與了由小學(xué)課程主任Ms. Shailani主持的培訓(xùn),主題是“什么是PYP”以及“什么是探究性學(xué)習(xí)” 。

Our Teacher Assistant’s receive weekly professional development through our TAD programme lead by Ms. Spring Lee. On the School PD days in October, they had two sessions with Ms. Shailani on PYP and what is inquiry!

許多老師周末會(huì)自愿&自費(fèi)參加不同類型的工作坊,老師們不斷努力成長為學(xué)生的榜樣,為CBIS提供優(yōu)質(zhì)教育!

Many teachers join workshops on weekends and on their own accord and cost as our endeavor is to keep growing as educators in order to provide quality education at CBIS!
