課后課的報名正如火如荼地進(jìn)行中，我們期待學(xué)生們能積極參與到豐富的課后課當(dāng)中。課后課將于8月31日周一開始，并持續(xù)一學(xué)期。

Dear BCIS Bronco Community,

親愛的BCIS Bronco 社區(qū)成員們,

The first week of school is officially behind us. What a week it was!

我們順利地度過了開學(xué)的第一周。這真是非常充實(shí)的一周啊!

From our opening assembly where I was able to introduce our theme this year, Serious Fun, to introductory meetings in each of our classrooms, students were engaged and tuned in.

從開學(xué)儀式，我給大家介紹本學(xué)年的主題“認(rèn)真的快樂”，到每個班級的介紹會，學(xué)生們都非常專注與投入。

This year we have started our Reading Mornings – each morning from Tuesday to Friday students and teachers can be found with books in hand – reading independently as well as being read to. We had some guest readers take part in the program, and look forward to continued opportunities where perhaps some of you will participate in reading to our students. Research shows that both reading independently and being read to on a regular basis leads to higher academic achievement. We have designated each morning as Reading Morning just for this reason. Please contact your child’s teachers about how you can participate.

今年，我們開始了晨讀項目——每周二至周五的早上，學(xué)生們和老師們手里都捧著書：要么進(jìn)行自主閱讀，要么老師給學(xué)生朗讀書中的故事。我們也邀請了一些朗讀嘉賓參加到了我們的晨讀計劃，并希望有機(jī)會家長們也可以參與到給學(xué)生們閱讀的活動中。研究表明，頻繁地自主閱讀和聽讀能提高學(xué)術(shù)水平。也正因如此，我們設(shè)立了晨讀項目。歡迎您咨詢您孩子的老師，了解如何參與到該活動中。

After School Activity signup is now underway. We look forward to having our students participate in the many different activities that have been planned. These will begin on Monday, August 31 and run for the duration of the semester.

We will begin our Fall Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) Testing on September 8. Students in all grades will be taking a preliminary test for Mathematics, Reading, and Language with K-3 also taking a Fluency test and 4-7 taking a Science test. Students in Kindergarten (LTC) test in Mathematics, Reading, and Fluency. The test this fall is to develop a baseline to help us measure growth over the course of the year – we do not use these results to measure a student against their peers.

學(xué)校將于9月8日開始對學(xué)生進(jìn)行秋季的MAP測試。所有年級的學(xué)生將會進(jìn)行數(shù)學(xué)，閱讀和語言的初步測試。另外，K班至3年級的學(xué)生會進(jìn)行口語流利度的測試，4年級至7年級的學(xué)生會進(jìn)行科學(xué)測試。LTC的學(xué)生會進(jìn)行數(shù)學(xué)，閱讀和口語流利度的測試。該秋季測評的目的是建立基準(zhǔn)，以幫助我們評估學(xué)生一學(xué)年的學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)步情況。學(xué)生的測試結(jié)果不用以與其他同齡學(xué)生做對比。
