On 29th September, PDP1 will be performing three short plays that they have been working on in their drama lessons. The plays are written by Julia Donaldson, bestselling author of The Gruffalo. They are all based on traditional tales, including one traditional Chinese tale set around the time of the mooncake festival.

9月29日，PDP1學(xué)生將表演他們在戲劇課上所學(xué)的三部短劇。劇本是由暢銷書《咕嚕?！返淖髡逬ulia Donaldson(朱莉婭·唐納森)所創(chuàng)作的。短劇以童話故事為根基，其中包括一個(gè)發(fā)生在中秋節(jié)前后的中國傳統(tǒng)故事。

Drama is an important part of the curriculum at AIC with a large number of students taking theatre as an option at IB. “Drama skills are so good for building confidence and developing the imagination”, says drama teacher Nicola Howard. “They also help stimulate an interest in books and reading”.

戲劇是AIC課程的重要組成部分，很多學(xué)生選擇戲劇課程。戲劇老師Nicola Howard說道:“戲劇技能對建立學(xué)生自信和發(fā)展他們的想象力非常有幫助;戲劇還有助于激發(fā)學(xué)生對書籍和閱讀的興趣。”

The students have had fun rehearsing the plays. PDP1 student Simran says, “The plays are enjoyable to act. I play two different characters – one is a Chinese peasant girl called Li Hua and the other is one of the Billy Goats Gruff. I have a lot of lines but I am very good at memorising, and I know everyone’s lines”.

學(xué)生們在排演戲劇時(shí)玩得不亦樂乎。PDP1的學(xué)生Simran表示：“戲劇表演非常有趣。我需要扮演兩個(gè)不同的角色，一個(gè)是叫Li Hua的中國農(nóng)家女孩，另一個(gè)角色是扮演《三只山羊》中的其中一只小羊。我有很多臺(tái)詞，但我很擅長記憶，我清楚知道每個(gè)人的臺(tái)詞?！?/span>

The plays will be performed in the drama studio and will be the first in a series of studio productions to be staged this semester. In October, the DP2 students will be showcasing some of the groups pieces they have been devising in class.
